Highlights
  • Oversee daily operations of a teaching and research dairy farm supporting research, teaching, and outreach.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, NCDA regulations and maintain Grade A Milk certification.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure IACUC protocol compliance.
  • Manage personnel including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for SHRA, student, and volunteer staff.
  • Collaborate with multiple university departments such as Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine for alignment of initiatives.
  • Utilize university HR and accounting systems for fiscal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain animal welfare, biosecurity, farm-based housing, and wastewater management.
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years research experience required; dairy farm or commercial-scale agricultural management experience required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's in Dairy Science or Animal Science and five years of related management experience.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License required or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
