Position Overview 
Primary Purpose of Position 
This position provides operational management and knowledge-driven planning and direction for multiple educational and research laboratories (physical and computational) in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering. This position also requires knowledge of laboratory operations, regulatory requirements, and safety in addition to research and teaching concepts.The Lab Manager will oversee the daily operations and long-term planning of the teaching and research laboratories within the department. This role includes maintaining lab equipment, ensuring safety protocols, managing lab schedules, supporting faculty and students in lab classes and research activities, and coordinating with external vendors. The Lab Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a productive and safe learning environment for the students. The position reports to the department chair.The range of duties includes, but is not limited to:· Planning, inventory control, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and software.· Ensuring that the teaching and research labs are organized, maintained, and functional for quality control and environmental risks.· Support for faculty and students for the use of teaching and research laboratories.· Support department with faculty/staff office setup for furniture and computational needs.· Ensure smooth operation in terms of labs, space, and facilities of the department which may require coordination with the building manager and other lab managers.· Commit to additional tasks as assigned by the department chair.

The Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) Department is one of 7 departments in the College of Engineering.
