POSITION SPECIFICS​

The Residential Dining - Intermediate Customer Support position provides daily operational and administrative support for residential dining services. This role is responsible for overseeing cashiering operations, assisting with staff scheduling and performance management, managing timekeeper duties for bi-weekly payroll, and maintaining university standards for safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Payroll Administration: Help lead daily customer service operations, assist with inventory and accounting tasks, manage student timekeeping, edit timecard entries, and ensure bi-weekly payroll deadlines are met. Handle opening and closing procedures as needed.

  • Staff Support & Team Leadership: Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling cashier team members. Mentor lower-level customer service representatives, organize daily break schedules, and collaborate with management to address performance feedback.

  • Customer Service & Operational Care: Oversee cashiering activities during operating hours to ensure high customer service standards, dress code adherence, and safety measures. Support patrons by resolving questions or complaints and issuing refunds when appropriate.

  • Training & Compliance: Organize and schedule required training sessions for student and cashier staff to keep everyone up to date on university policies and guidelines.

  • Staff Liaison & Work Coordination: Serve as a helpful link between staff and management for scheduling requests and workplace updates. Guide staff on professional development activities and task reassignments during university calendar breaks.

  • Events & Department Engagement: Participate in university or department committees and help coordinate special events, training sessions, and custom projects.
