Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Galileo X Partnerships, the Sales Development & Outreach Associate, Galileo X, will be a key contributor to the growth and impact of Galileo’s expanding partnership programs. In this role, you will generate leads, identify aligned school districts, charter school networks, and education providers, and build a robust pipeline of potential new camp locations and collaborators.
This is an exciting opportunity in education-focused sales, outreach, and business development. By meeting communities where they are, Galileo X expands access to life-changing experiences, strengthens local partnerships, and helps close opportunity gaps. Through these collaborations, which are supported by initiatives like 21st Century Community Learning Center grants & ELO-P, we bring transformative summer and enrichment programs to new communities—especially those historically underserved or without access to high-quality summer opportunities.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
Lead Generation & Prospecting
  • Research and identify aligned leads across districts, schools, nonprofits, cities, and youth-serving organizations
  • Leverage tools like LinkedIn, Outreach, & Salesforce to build targeted lead lists
  • Initiate high-volume outreach via email, phone, and social platforms to spark interest and schedule discovery calls.
Outreach Strategy & Execution
  • Craft compelling messages that reflect Galileo’s mission and the value of Galileo X ELO-P programming.
  • Tailor outreach based on regional needs and partner type
  • Track and optimize outreach strategies to improve open, response, and conversion rates
Cross-Team Collaboration & Growth Support
  • Partner closely with the Partnerships and Programs teams to align outreach efforts with expansion goals, bringing Galileo’s hands-on, innovative programs to new communities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Galileo’s CRM 
  • Reflect on early trends and feedback to share insights that inform ongoing strategy

COMPENSATION
We anticipate total on-target compensation (including base pay and commission) for this Full-Time, exempt position to be in the range of $65,000 - $75,000 annually. This estimate is based on the preferred location in California. Exact compensation may vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience. 

Our pay practices are guided by a commitment to equity and informed by market benchmarking and internal audits to minimize bias and ensure fairness across all roles.

WORK LOCATION
San Francisco Bay Area preferred: Employees located in the San Francisco Bay Area adhere to a hybrid office and work-from-home policy. Galileo Headquarters is located at 111 Myrtle St, Ste 300, Oakland, CA 94607. 
Remote, work-from-home, location is possible in the following states: California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas, North Carolina, New York, or Washington. We are currently only able to employ candidates who are based in the states listed here.

SCHEDULE & TIME COMMITMENT
This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. While we prioritize work-life balance, there may be times when additional hours are necessary to meet deadlines and ensure the success of our programs. Additionally, HQ staff are expected to visit camp locations from June through August to experience camp first-hand and support our teams on the ground; 10-15% travel may be required for those located outside of a camp territory.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional experience in high-volume sales, outreach, or customer-facing role 
  • Background in K-12 education or youth-serving organizations, and experience working with schools, districts, or community-based nonprofits
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to craft clear, compelling messages
  • Comfortable with outbound outreach (email, phone, social) and handling rejection with resilience
  • Highly organized with the ability to track outreach, follow-ups, and key metrics in a CRM (e.g., Salesforce or similar)
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools and platforms
  • Demonstrated interest in education, youth development, or mission-driven work
  • Experience using sales prospecting tools is a plus (Outreach, LinkedIn,Salesforce, etc.)
  • Familiarity with outbound sales frameworks or previous BDR/SDR training is a plus
