Why Join ReadTheory?
ReadTheory began as a teacher’s idea and grew into a movement — spreading classroom to classroom, school to school, completely by word of mouth. No big launch. No splashy marketing. Just teachers sharing something that genuinely helped their students understand more deeply.

Today, millions of learners use ReadTheory, and we’re entering an exciting phase of growth. We’re looking for someone who loves outreach, loves connecting with schools, and wants to build a career in sales to join our sales team – especially those eager to grow into an AE role.

If you’re energized by starting conversations, opening doors, and helping educators discover something meaningful for their students, this is the place for you.

Who You Are
You’re the kind of person who lights up at the idea of outreach — whether it’s picking up the phone, writing thoughtful emails, or connecting over LinkedIn. You genuinely enjoy it and take pride in the craft.
You’re hungry to grow into an AE role and aren’t afraid to put in the reps to get there.

You listen well, learn quickly, and communicate clearly. You stay organized, stay proactive, and stay steady in a fast-moving environment. You love experimenting with messaging, testing new approaches, and improving your conversion rates.

You’re motivated by purpose. You care about helping educators and students succeed, and you want to be part of a team building something meaningful.

Why You’ll Love This Role
  • You’ll grow fast. This role is designed for someone who wants to become an AE — and we’ll coach you every step of the way.
  • You’ll make an impact. You’re not selling widgets. You’re helping schools strengthen reading instruction.
  • Your outreach actually matters. Districts want what we offer; they just haven’t heard from you yet.
  • Your ideas shape our future. We’re small enough that every voice matters and big enough that your work moves the needle.
  • You won’t get lost in a huge org. You’ll work directly with leadership and see clear results from your effort.
  • You’ll join a team that supports one another. We share wins, troubleshoot challenges, and celebrate growth together.

What You'll Do
  • Lead high-volume outreach across email, phone, and LinkedIn – you love the chase
  • Manage a healthy pipeline of inbound and outbound leads
  • Run discovery calls and introductory walkthroughs
  • Qualify leads and book strong demos for Account Executives
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to refine messaging and outreach strategy
  • Use CRM and sales engagement tools to work efficiently and hit goals
  • Represent ReadTheory at select education events and conferences
  • Help shape our sales processes, playbooks, and early-stage best practices

Requirements
  • 2+ years as an SDR or BDR in EdTech
  • Clear and confident communicator — warm, human, concise
  • Comfortable making cold calls and speaking naturally on Zoom
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Experience with CRM and sales engagement tools
  • Curiosity about education, reading, or student learning
  • A growth mindset and excitement about working in a fast-growing environment
