As a Sales Representative for McGraw Hill’s innovative Higher Education team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by securing new accounts and fostering enduring relationships with educators and institutions.
 

In this role, you will:

  • Grow revenue by winning new business opportunities and introducing instructors to the value of McGraw Hill’s digital solutions.

  • Engage customers through a high volume of daily sales activities, including analyzing needs, recommending solutions, and executing a structured calling strategy.

  • Deliver impact with in-person and virtual presentations and product demonstrations featuring McGraw Hill platforms such as Connect, SIMnet, and ALEKS.

  • Leverage tools and data to track opportunities, maintain an accurate customer database, and execute sales strategies

How can you make an impact?  

As a passionate Higher Ed Sales Representative, you will significantly impact digital license activations while collaborating closely with Digital Solutions Teams, Marketing, and Product Management to develop and execute effective sales strategies. You will enjoy the flexibility of running your own home office while still working in a team environment, with travel to universities and colleges in British Columbia and Alberta.

 

This position covers inside and outside accounts in British Columbia and Alberta, and candidates must currently reside in the metro Vancouver or Calgary area to be considered.  This position is a full-time contract position covering a maternity leave and has an expected contract end date of January 2027. Candidates must permanently reside within the territory and hold a valid driver's license to be eligible for the role. 

 

What can you expect from this position?  

  • Create customer value and grow revenue by analyzing customer needs, synthesize gathered information and recommend digital solutions that will deliver desired results.  
  • Proactively build and nurture client relationships for effective and positive account management.  
  • Contribute to regular field reports and forecasting information to your Manager and Higher Educations Division.  
  • Identify products & service development opportunities with the help of cross functional internal stakeholders.  
  • Fast track your career development with excellent training and mentorship resources.  
  • Develop and maintain a systematic calling plan and an up-to-date database of customer and sales information.  
  • Provide consultative conversations, driving solution-based selling within digital sales. 

 

We’re looking for someone with:  

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a related field is required.  
  • Superior interpersonal, organization and communication skills (written and oral).  
  • A demonstrated passion for technology-enabled educational solutions is highly valued.  
  • A minimum of 1 year of sales experience is a significant advantage, demonstrating your capability to thrive in this dynamic role.  
  • The ability to adapt and excel through the ever-changing Higher Education landscape.  
  • Microsoft Office Applications Proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The compensation for this position includes salary in the range of 65,000-70,000 CAD, a car allowance and annual sales incentive plan, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
