Your impact on the team: 
Reporting to the Director of Sales Programs, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic leader within the district sales team, collaborating closely with the District Manager to drive growth goals, foster collaboration, and inspire innovation. You will drive new business growth by focusing on complex, high-value sales opportunities and delivering premium digital solutions, products and services that transform higher education globally. With your proven leadership presence, you will model advanced sales strategies, mentor team members, and support their ongoing professional development. Your deep expertise in our core digital platforms, combined with your ability to deliver impactful, high-stakes sales demonstrations, will highlight the value of our solutions and drive the successful close of new business opportunities.   
 
This Sales Specialist role covers the states of North Carolina and Virginia (excluding Northern Virginia). Candidates must reside within the territory to be eligible for the position. Regular travel is required, with four days per week spent on campus meeting faculty and staff and collaborating with field sales representatives. Candidates must be willing to travel overnight up to 25 percent of the time during September - mid November and January - May.  
 
A typical day might include: 
  • Collaborate with the sales team and lead the strategy for complex sales opportunities. 
  • Work on campus to develop qualified leads, across key disciplines, through the pipeline to close. 
  • Serve as the product expert regarding functionality, value propositions, and differentiators of our products to prospects. 
  • Coach team members and support the training and onboarding of new Sales Representatives, focusing on advanced sales processes, product and platform offerings, and delivering impactful sales demonstrations. 
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives to transition newly acquired business to the dedicated Customer Success Representative, ensuring a seamless handoff and continued customer support. 
 
We're looking for someone with: 
  • Bachelor's Degree required 
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience within higher education technology sales 
  • Strong verbal and written communication, strategic planning, and data analysis skills to identify growth, gaps, and trends 
  • Analytical, process-oriented mindset, and comfortable working across multiple departments in a deadline-driven environment 
  • Active team player, self-starter, and multitasker who can quickly adjust priorities 
  • Ability to uncover customer needs, understand current product solution, identify next steps and criteria to win new adoptions, taking a consultative approach in helping customers identify course solutions to improve outcomes. 
  • Extraordinary depth of digital product knowledge to deliver impactful presentations. 
  • Residence in the territory and willingness to travel overnight is required. A valid driver's license and the ability to drive is required.

As this position requires traveling by car, we require candidates to have a valid driver's license with the ability to drive a car in the designated territory. The pay range for this position is between $80,000 - 95,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual sales incentive plan is included as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
