Position Description

Tenna is searching for a Sales Training Specialist to build and deliver training programs that get our sales team up to speed quickly and keep them sharp. You will design curriculum specific to construction workflows and our products, create training materials such as presentations and videos, deliver sessions to new and tenured reps, and provide one-on-one coaching through shadowing and feedback. You will also measure how well the training is working using data on ramp time, quota attainment, and rep feedback, then adjust the program as needed. This role requires hands-on sales experience, ideally in SaaS, along with solid knowledge of the construction industry and proven experience training or developing others. Ideal candidates should be comfortable using training platforms and tools, capable of producing video and multimedia content, and skilled at analyzing training metrics to improve programs. Your Responsibilities:

  • Owns the new hire onboarding curriculum end to end, covering product knowledge, sales methodology, systems and tools, company policies, and construction industry fundamentals including project lifecycles, buyer personas, and the workflows our customers live in every day.
  • Creates original course content in multiple formats, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, scripts, role-play scenarios, job aids, and assessments, built specifically around Tenna's products and the construction buyer.
  • Delivers training in classroom, virtual, and on-the-floor settings for both new and tenured representatives, adapting facilitation style to different experience levels and learning preferences.
  • Shadows live sales calls and meetings to provide individualized coaching and feedback, with particular focus on how reps translate product capabilities into construction-specific business value.
  • Designs and runs ongoing education programs, including product launch training, refreshers, and skill-building workshops, keeping the team current as products, messaging, and market conditions change.
  • Builds and maintains a documented library of training materials, playbooks, job aids, and assessments, with a defined review cadence so content never goes stale.
  • Owns training measurement end to end: tracks trainee progress, ramp time, quota attainment, and assessment results, identifies knowledge gaps, and adjusts curriculum based on what the data shows.
  • Conducts structured interviews with new reps at 30, 60, and 90 days to surface curriculum gaps and validate that training holds up against the realities of the job.
  • Partners with sales leadership, product, and the Employee Education Program Manager to keep training aligned with revenue goals, quota expectations, the product roadmap, and evolving construction market conditions.
  • Stays current on construction industry trends, competitor offerings, and modern sales methodology, and builds relationships with internal subject matter experts to keep training grounded in real practice.
  • Uses Tenna-approved AI tools to accelerate content drafting, assessment generation, video production, and documentation, with all AI-assisted material reviewed for accuracy before it reaches a learner.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in a quota-carrying sales role with a demonstrated track record of strong performance; SaaS sales experience strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of formal training, instructional design, or curriculum development experience is required, such as an L&D role, corporate trainer, sales enablement, online course design, or training program management.
  • Experience in or working knowledge of the construction industry, such as prior construction sales, construction technology, or hands-on industry experience, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building training content from scratch, including presentations, e-learning modules, facilitator guides, and training videos.
  • Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems such as Cornerstone, Docebo, Moodle, or Absorb, including course build, assignment, and reporting.
  • Experience creating, editing, and producing training video or multimedia content is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze training data, ramp metrics, and performance analytics, and to translate findings into curriculum changes.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with comfort leading groups of varying experience levels and seniority.
  • Proven coaching ability: patient and encouraging, paired with the willingness to hold people accountable to performance standards.
  • Ability to translate complex product functionality and construction industry context into clear, actionable training a rep can use the next day.
  • Proficiency with content creation tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, video editing software, and authoring or LMS platforms.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted content tools, with sound judgment about reviewing and validating generated material for accuracy.
  • Clear written communication and strong documentation habits, with the ability to build repeatable processes.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, comfortable owning programs from concept through measurement with minimal oversight.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product, and leadership teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, education, communications, or a related field is required, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
