What you'll do here
As an expert SAP ERP Test Lead at Cengage, you will drive end-to-end testing efforts for our SAP implementation and enhancements within the large multi-functional projects and development. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong coordination with offshore teams, effective business communication, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.   

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage offshore QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality test execution following Agile model and Sprint releases
  • Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and scripts across SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, FI, CRM)
  • Coordinating with onsite business and IT leads to capture requirements, resolving issues, and aligning priorities
  • Track and report testing progress using Excel dashboards, JIRA and Zephyr (optional)
  • Facilitate defect triage meetings, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking
  • Ensure test coverage and traceability for functional, integration, regression, and UAT phases
  • Mentor junior testers, promote standard QA processes, and cultivate a culture of accountability   

Skills You'll Need Here:
  • 9+ years of relevant software development quality assurance experience and writing manual test case, test plans, and test execution in S4 HANA SAP implementation projects
  • At least 7+ years of SAP Testing experience across workstreams and minimum 5+ years of Test lead experience in ERP S4 HANA implementation projects efficiently
  • Highly Proficient in standard SAP processes w.r.t understanding the requirement documentation, process flows, RICEFWs
  • Build kick-off decks, plans- Build Test cases (OTC, PTP, RTR) working with Functional leads and Test Closure reports. Develop test plans, test cases, traceability and test scripts based on functional and technical specifications to ensure the quality and reliability of SAP modules.
  • Must be open to travel to Boston, MA and Mason, OH when needed.
  • Shown success in leading offshore teams and handling cross-time-zone collaboration.
  • Coordinate triage activities for sprints and SIT/UAT cycles with respective teams. Create and produce Test status reports for design, execution, and defects daily.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, dashboards) and JIRA
  • Superb communication and team member leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working with business and IT leads in a client-facing capacity
  • Conduct risk assessments and prioritize testing efforts to mitigate the risks which helps in testing all Business Processes and functionalities are thoroughly validated. Anticipate any problems and get in touch with project collaborators promptly.   
  • Work in Agile Sprint cadences and support releases
Extensive experience in leading QA (and UAT) in fast paced S4 implementations
  • As the test lead, work closely with the PMO and Program/Project Managers, QA manager, business analyst, QA analyst, SI (Implementation partner) Team and other collaborators to ensure all the test activities take place based on project / other needs to ensure critical work and timelines are met.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication with active listening skills and the ability to tightly collaborate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical personnel via various communication channels.
  • Independent problem-solving/analytical skills with good hands-on and participate in any phase of testing (test design/execution) when a situation arises.
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual who works well independently or as part of a team.
  • Follow QA tool usage standards on projects including Jira and Zephyr to maintain test repository, complete test execution cycles and triage defects.
  • Hands on with Agile methodology and Sprint ceremonies.   
  • Participate and lead Sprint Testing as needed for PROD application support and plan the Sprint regression as needed.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.$88,600.00 - $115,200.00 USD
