We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Director to oversee educational programs for K-12. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of curriculum development, and a commitment to academic excellence. This role requires strategic thinking, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the academic experience for students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Serve as the executive officer of the school, administering the development and sustainment of a positive educational program designed to foster student achievement;
  • Own the school budget, forecasting and work force planning; set budgets, create organizational structures, and allocate capital and people resources to achieve company and functional goals;  
  • Create a strong, trusting relationship with the board (district) clients, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and provide advice on policies, programs and innovative solutions; 
  • Proactively make business decisions based on knowledge of education industry, customer base, political and regulatory environment, and technology; 
  • Guide and empower school academic leaders in supervision of staff related to teaching and academic outcomes;
  • Provide general leadership and mentorship to instructional Academic Administrators and instructional staff through oversite of data meeting processes, individual and team meetings;
  • Determine staffing needs and FTE adjustments based on state laws and regulations, enrollment trends, and potential new clients;
  • Create and manage requisitions, oversee recruitment of all teachers, facilitate digital interviews, and determine new hire placement;
  • Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources as needed to meet state standards;
  • Articulate the school's mission and vision to ensure stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively;
  • Confer with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral issues;
  • Ensure the school meets the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws, including laws pertaining to special education;
  •   Develop and oversee implementation of the school's School Improvement Plan;
  • Cultivate a collaborative working environment that encourages communication, innovation, and refinement of instructional practices;
  • Monitor departmental compliance with accountability measures;
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits and respect for others;
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 5 - 10 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees and/or contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree AND
  • 3 or more years of experience in a Principal or School Director position

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans
  • Strong knowledge of instructional and educational leadership strategies, online instructional design theories, and learning style theories
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate complex programs and processes
  • Works effectively as a team member and leader
  • Employs innovative problem-solving techniques to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision, training, and development of teachers
  • Possesses knowledge of technical systems used within the organization
  • Thorough knowledge of Florida accountability structures and systems
  • Experience in a Virtual School setting
