About Our Team
Cell Press is excited to announce the launch of a new Review journal dedicated to publishing high-quality Reviews in all areas of life and physical sciences. This journal aims to provide a platform for accessible articles that distill and synthesize advances of significance to specialists within each field.

About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Lead Life Science Editor for our new Reviews journal. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the editorial recruitment and publication of review articles. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the launch of a new journal and be at the forefront of scientific communication.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Cell Press editorial family and advisory board members to identify key authors and research topics for impactful reviews, ensuring alignment with the journal’s focus and objectives.
  • Manage a pipeline of high-quality articles that cover the breadth of the field.
  • Prioritize operational excellence focusing on article retention and editorial efficiency, while working with the Publisher and Journal Managers to innovate workflows and create strategic roadmaps.
  • Edit manuscripts to enhance scientific messaging and clarity.
  • Work alongside the Cell Press editorial family, production and operations team, business development, and marketing team to successfully launch and grow the journal.
  • Represent the journal at conferences and public forums, promoting its impact and engaging with the wider scientific community.
  • Execute AI- and data-driven innovations and experiments to meet the evolving needs of the journal community.

Requirements
  • Have a PhD with a focus on research in life sciences; post-doctoral training is a plus.
  • Display genuine passion for science and scientific communication.
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills with an enthusiastic approach to time management and organization.
  • Able to work both in a team dynamic and independently, impartially, and proactively.
  • Display a can-do attitude accompanied by a strategic mindset and solution-oriented approach.
