University of South Carolina is hiring a Senior Accountant - General Ledger. The role manages and performs complex financial accounting for the General Ledger and Capital Assets, verifies and documents financial transactions, prepares monthly and annual reports, performs reconciliations, and supports annual financial statement reporting.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of certification, training, and education.

Salary range is $54,165 to $65,000 annually with full benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, and professional development opportunities.

Advertised Job Summary | The Senior Accountant – General Ledger position performs and manages complex financial accounting general ledger system for General Accounting in the Controller’s Office to include creation and maintenance of accounting records for the General Ledger and Capital Assets, verification and documentation of financial transactions, preparation of monthly and annual reports, monthly reconciliations, and assistance with reporting functions for the annual financial statements. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials | Preferred Qualifications | Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, banking, budgeting, financial management or investment.
