Description: 
The School of Nursing seeks a Senior Assistant Dean for Administration and Clinical Operations. The Senior Assistant Dean for Administration and Clinical Operations provides administrative and operational leadership to support clinical education at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. This executive role oversees revenue-generating education initiatives, contract management, and the leadership of diverse administrative and operational teams primarily within the Emory Nursing Learning Center (ENLC).
 
The Senior Assistant Dean will report to the Associate Dean for Clinical Practice Operations and Education, provide leadership, and work collaboratively with teams to achieve the strategic goals necessary to ensure fiscal viability, protect school assets, and respond to evolving demands in healthcare education, technology, and regulation.
 
KEY REPSONSIBILITIES: 
  • The Senior Assistant Dean for Administration and Clinical Operations provides administrative and operational leadership that supports clinical education within Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. 
  • This executive role is responsible for the oversight of the revenue-generating education initiatives, contract management, and the leadership of diverse administrative and operational teams that primarily occurs within the Emory Nursing Learning Center (ENLC). 
  • Reporting to the Associate Dean for Clinical Practice Operations and Education, provides leadership and works collaboratively with teams to implement the strategic goals necessary to ensure fiscal viability and protect school assets while responding to evolving demands in healthcare education, technology, and regulation. 
  • Provides leadership and oversight for revenue-generating educational initiatives including the Integrated Memory Care Clinic and Community and the Emory Nursing Experience that comprise of programs such as Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP), Emory Nursing Professional Development Center (ENPDC), and external Grants. 
  • Identifies new educational prospects, business ventures, and service expansions to ensure continued growth. 
  • Directs the development and management of capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets. 
  • Monitors financial metrics and KPIs to assess fiscal health and support decision-making. 
  • Serves as a principal non-academic officer responsible for administrative operations, financial services, and business activities within the ENLC. 
  • Leads and mentors administrative and support staff, fostering a collaborative work environment and a strong, responsive service ethic. 
  • Defines and documents major recurring processes to enhance transparency, increase skill redundancy, and strengthen staff preparedness. 
  • Ensures the ENLC has the necessary resources, data, and reporting infrastructure to support high-quality constituent and client services. 
  • Manages grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with university policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. 
  • Acts as a liaison between ENLC management and other university departments or external partners to align financial and operational strategies with broader organizational objectives. 
  • Advances service excellence for both internal and external clients by enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of administrative delivery. 
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Master's degree, preferably in business, finance, or a related field and eight years of professional business or management experience, including significant supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
  • Experience in a clinical, healthcare, or higher education environment is strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial/budgeting, contract management, strategic planning, and team leadership. 
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse community of faculty, staff and students as a faculty member in a university.
