The Opportunity
Grammarly recently completed a $1B+ acquisition (Coda.io) and has raised another $1B to invest in strategic growth vectors, including additional acquisitions. This high-visibility, high-impact Senior Manager role sits at the intersection of M&A and investor relations, helping lead our AI-native productivity platform to $1B in revenue and beyond. This role sits on the small but mighty Corp Dev + IR team within the Grammarly Finance org, but partners with the executive team and other key stakeholders across the company to formulate and execute M&A strategy.

Here are more specific responsibilities:
  • Develop acquisition theses and corresponding market analyses for specific acquisition priorities. Build relationships with relevant companies, investors, etc.
  • Lead business case development for potential acquisitions, owning the deal model and leading valuation/structuring.
  • Drive deal execution — including LOI / definitive agreement negotiation, due diligence, and integration planning — in concert with other stakeholders. Partner with Strategy & Operations and key functional leaders to stand up integration governance.
  • Play the leadership role in quarterly and ad hoc BOD and investor reporting.
  • Support key capital raising/capital structure decision-making.
  • Forge strong cross-functional partnerships across Grammarly to source and align on strategic priorities and reinforce Corp Dev + IR trusted advisor brand.

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of M&A transactional experience (e.g. investment banking, consulting, investing), with 2+ years of Corporate Development experience at a technology company. This won’t be your first rodeo.
  • A strong analytical foundation combined with an intense intellectual curiosity related to technology (especially AI), business strategy, and finance
  • Experience leveraging generative AI as a force multiplier for research, analysis, and communication
  • A demonstrated reputation for quality, attention to detail, and initiative
  • A collaboration mindset, the ability to partner and influence effectively across various departments, and willingness to roll up sleeves to do what needs to be done to make a deal successful
  • Crisp verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is inspired by our MOVE principles: move fast and learn faster; obsess about creating customer value; value impact over activity; and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
  • And please, a sense of humor
