Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics, information systems, qualitative social sciences, or a related field
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis, institutional research, or decision support
• Experience working with large, complex data sets, relational databases, and navigating data integrity issues.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical findings to non-technical audiences
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one analytical language or tool (e.g., Python, R, SAS) and experience with logical regression and other predictive modeling techniques, including model validation and interpretation for non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple projects while producing high-quality results
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain strong working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in a related field
• Experience working in a public university or higher-education system
• Experience presenting findings to senior leadership and translating statistical uncertainty into practical decision guidance
• Experience with enterprise reporting or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

Provides senior level data analysis, reporting, and decision support for a large public university by integrating complex institutional datasets and translating results into actionable insights that inform executive leadership, academic planning, compliance, and policy development.
Job Duties
Advanced Data Analysis & Modeling
Conducts complex quantitative analyses and develops analytical models, forecasts, and trend analyses using large institutional datasets related to students, employees, finances, and academic programs.
Interprets findings to support strategic planning and university decision making in collaboration with the office of Data, Analytics, and Institutional Research.

Institutional Reporting & Visualization
Designs, develops, and maintains dashboards, standard reports, and ad hoc analyses using enterprise reporting and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI).
Ensures accuracy and consistency of official institutional metrics.

Data Integration & Quality Assurance
Extracts, transforms, validates, and integrates data from multiple university systems.
Applies institutional data definitions, governance standards, and quality controls to ensure reliable analytical outputs.

Executive & Stakeholder Decision Support & Machine Learning
Prepares executive level briefings, written summaries, and presentations.
Consults with academic and administrative leaders to define analytical requirements and interpret results.
Serves on relevant committees and data governance bodies.

Documentation, Compliance, Data Ethics & Best Practices
Develops and maintains documentation of methodologies, business rules, and data sources. Supports state, federal, accreditation, and bench-marking reporting requirements.
Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations, including FERPA.
