About the Team
The Analytics and Insights team within Technology Infrastructure and Operations (TIO) delivers actionable reporting and insights on Elsevier's technology infrastructure and operational performance, supporting technology operations, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, well-governed data models that power analytics and reporting across Elsevier's IT and multi-cloud infrastructure estate, operating at the intersection of analytics and data engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, modular data models using dbt to support analytics and reporting.
  • Translate business and reporting requirements into robust, reusable data models with clearly defined metrics and logic.
  • Implement data transformation best practices, including testing, documentation, and version control.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure reliable ingestion, schema evolution, and data quality controls.
  • Lead analytics initiatives end-to-end: discovery, requirements, development, validation, release, and support.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in analytics engineering, data transformation, or modern BI engineering roles.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, including performance optimization and complex transformation logic.
  • Experience building and maintaining data models using dbt in production environments; Python for data processing and automation.
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses, preferably Snowflake, and AWS or equivalent cloud technologies.
