Do you want to help The LEGO Group create an amazing digital building tool for expert creators?
In this job you will be designing and developing the digital building experience of BrickLink® Studio – a desktop application that empowers the creativity of LEGO fans to bring their incredible ideas to life.
You will take part in leading a product team, as the senior designer, that is part of a larger family of multiple teams, making this a job with a focus on handling diverse requirements and complexity, as well as communicating efficiently. You will work with one of the world’s most trusted brands, in The LEGO Group’s Product & Marketing Development department our Irvine, California office.
This role is a temporary 6 months cover position.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the design direction on Bricklink Studio in collaboration with Lead engineer and Product Manager
- Drive research, insights and collection of organizational requirements to deliver designs that solve user needs and meet strategic objectives.
- Ensure understanding of overall user journeys and flows.
- Ensure continuous discovery processes that update our knowledge of users and related opportunities.
- Develop proposals, wireframes & final designs with a strong UX foundation.
- Present design solutions and underlying rationale clearly.
- Contribute to transparency and communication across several product and design teams.
- Lead documentation of design work and contribute to shared design systems, guidelines and tools.
Do you have what it takes?
- Strong hands-on experience designing digital products (preferably digital creation experiences) on web and/or desktop/mobile apps.
- Experience in driving user insights processes, establishing an understanding of user’s needs, behaviour and mapping user journeys
- Ability to deliver clear and well-founded design proposals based on complex requirements.
- Creating prototypes, wireframes, and final UI solutions as well as contributing to shared design systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience in working well with other team members and roles.
- Great communication skills, both in person as well as through your design work.
- Experienced user of Figma and other UX/UI design tools
- Experience with online marketplaces, shopping sites or similar products.
- Experience with planning, conducting and analysing user tests.
- Experience with communicating, taking feedback and aligning designs across several teams and departments.
- Experienced in working on agile teams, where communication, collaboration and taking initiative is key.
Additional details on this position
- The salary for this position has a range of $113,000 - $169,000 USD based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
- This role is physically based in our office in Irvine, CA. There is no opportunity for this to be a fully remote position. Our workplace enables our LEGO Group colleagues to be and do their best at work.
