The Senior Director, Healthcare Partnerships leads a small team of individual contributors organized around the country responsible for driving growth in healthcare provider markets that align with academic partner programs with a special focus on nursing education. This leader will build strategic partnerships with hospitals, health systems, and clinical provider organizations to expand clinical placement opportunities for nursing students by creating clear career advancement pathways for healthcare employees. This role requires a consultative relationship-building approach and a focus on building rigor into strategic go-to-market employer plans, a strong understanding of healthcare and nursing workforce needs, and the ability to align Risepoint's university partner programs with the strategic priorities of healthcare providers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Healthcare Partnerships
- Drive strategic data-driven engagement with hospitals, health systems, and clinical provider organizations to establish long-term partnerships that expand clinical practice opportunities for university students and create pathways for healthcare employees to advance their careers through education.
- Build strong relationships with Chief Nursing Officers, nursing education leaders, HR executives, and workforce development teams to understand needs and align them with educational solutions.
- Partner with healthcare systems to design and promote career advancement opportunities for nurses and other healthcare employees, including RN-to-BSN pathways, advanced practice programs, and leadership development.
- Establish the business development methods, playbook of how we advise, consult, and partner with healthcare employers, and partners, and protocols that a team of business development professionals will leverage to consistently achieve and exceed revenue and partnership goals in the healthcare provider segment. Regularly provide feedback and coaching to the team to attain desired impact and results.
- Provide necessary feedback and training for the team to ensure a standardized and consistent approach to this work. Evaluate and recommend process improvements for better outcomes.
- Ensures there are strategic go-to-market plans by academic partners and coaches the team on plan development and implementation. Encourages creative solutions as it relates to the healthcare workforce challenges.
- Establish and lead all phases of the sales cycle specific to healthcare and pre-licensure, including prospecting, discovery, solution design, negotiation, and closing multi-year agreements. Ensure smooth onboarding and handoff to partner success teams for successful implementation.
- Build trust-based, long-term relationships with healthcare executives and decision-makers, anticipating potential challenges and proactively addressing concerns to keep mutually beneficial relationships with desired student outcomes on track.
Market Expertise and Messaging:
- Effectively communicate how Risepoint's university partnerships address critical healthcare workforce challenges such as staffing shortages, career progression, and continuing education.
- Stay informed on healthcare industry trends, workforce challenges, and regulatory issues to position Risepoint as a knowledgeable and credible partner in workforce education
- Stay informed on nursing workforce trends, state licensure requirements, and accreditation standards, ensuring that proposed partnerships meet compliance expectations.
Healthcare Program Education:
- Regularly educate and inform internal stakeholders and resources on healthcare policy and program industry updates with an eye towards healthcare employer solutions.
- Mobilize internal subject matter experts and cross-functional resources to advance opportunities, remove obstacles, and deliver solutions tailored to healthcare and nursing partners.
- Drive measurable impact by expanding the number of clinical placement sites and increasing enrollment in nursing programs through new healthcare provider partnerships.
- Raise awareness of healthcare expansion strategy, partnerships and outcomes externally and internally to increase awareness of student outcomes and workforce readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business related field or an MBA
Minimum 10 years of work experience and proven track record in business development, sales or building strategic partnerships.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Proven success in business development, consultative sales, or partnership development within healthcare or higher education, with strong preference for experience in nursing or clinical education.
- Deep understanding of healthcare provider operations, particularly related to nursing education, clinical training, and workforce development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with healthcare executives and nursing leaders.
- Knowledge of state licensure requirements, accreditation standards, and workforce trends impacting nursing.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and inspire a high-performing sales team.
