Vector Solutions is seeking a high-performing, highly motivated Higher Education Strategist to join our Industry & Key Account Strategy Team as our thought leader and advocate for higher education (HED) institutions. This role will affect issues impacting HED institutions on a macro scale in the building of safe, healthy, and inclusive academic environments. The successful candidate will utilize their industry expertise and skills of persuasion and consensus building to collaboratively drive strategic initiatives internally and with client institutions.  

This role is pivotal in positioning Vector Solutions as a critical partner and thought leader to the academic community and in bringing “voice of the customer” insights to our Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams. The HED Strategist will be a relationship builder who can navigate complex university systems and help our Account Executives cultivate, assess, quantify, and realize opportunities to grow revenue and impact.  

The HED Strategist will represent Vector Solutions at conferences, campus visits, webinars, and in media relations as a subject matter expert and strategic voice. This is a client-facing role that requires superior communications, presentation, and project management skills. This role reports directly to the Vice President responsible for Industry and Key Account Strategy and works closely with the General Manager of Education. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable and stay current on trends across all types of Higher Education institutions.  Keep focused on trends and influences on faculty/staff and student, prevention, and compliance training. 
  • Be a steward of Vector Solutions’ position in the Higher Education community, developing our narrative and creating industry thought leadership and deliverables that demonstrate the impact and value of our solutions. 
  • Enable sales and client-facing teams on industry trends and topics supporting our business objectives. 
  • Support sales and client-facing teams understanding of client’s needs and work in concert to create and deliver client-specific presentations and program recommendations. 
  • Ongoing interpretation and sharing of Vector Solutions’ efficacy data, client Impact Reports, and National Insight Reports with customers and prospects. Educate sales and client-facing teams on data insights to support growth, product adoption, and impact. 
  • Speaker at Regional and National events. Research, submit proposals, and work with marketing to secure speaking spots. In addition to speaking, support event’s demand generation efforts. 
  • Be a voice of Vector Solutions’ Higher Education as lead presenter in webinars, media interviews, articles, and blogs coordinated through marketing.   
  • Provide subject matter expertise to assist Vector’s product team, content development team, and proposal team as it pertains to training and technology solutions.  

Requirements

  • Leadership experience at a Higher Education institution, managing people, student support services, and/or budget resources.    
  • Experience with Higher Education compliance and regulation training for Faculty/Staff and Students. 
  • Engaging interpersonal skills in person, via video, and over the phone. 
  • Problem solving skills, analytical skills, and logical reasoning.  
  • Ability to synthesize data into insights and practical recommendations, supported by strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to position the financial value and strategic impact of our technology solutions. 
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Superior follow-up and follow through. 
  • Solid computer and technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and navigate new software systems. 
  • Ability to travel up to 30% 

Education and Professional Experience 

  • 7-10 years in Higher Education leadership as department Director focusing on prevention, Associate Provost, Associate/Assistant Vice Chancellor, Associate Dean, Assistant/Vice Provost, Assistant Dean, Senior Students Affairs Officer, or cabinet level experience.   Having held an Executive position is preferred. 
  • Masters’ degree or relevant industry experience. 
  • Accomplished Higher Education speaker with broad recognition of expertise preferred.  
  • Experience working/leading efforts across HED departments. 
  • Manages fiscal budget and works in partnership with procurement - preferred.
