The Senior Director, Integrated Marketing Operations is responsible for supporting the VP, Integrated Marketing Operations with building operational excellence and enablement to create scale, consistency and efficiencies to increase output of the Integrated Marketing team.
The Senior Director role will lead the standardization of assigned pilots, special projects and processes to support the Integrated Marketing team’s focus areas of partner strategy and growth, account management, performance management, branding and strategic initiatives, and insights-driven strategy. The position will play a key role in providing support on workflow and tech-enabled improvements including researching emerging trends, experimenting with new technologies, and implementing scalable solutions. The role will establish and monitor KPIs and other success metrics to assess effectiveness of initiatives/improvements as well as support the VP with the development of quality control checkpoints.
Additionally, the position will lead the development of onboarding materials and conduct onboarding for the Integrated Marketing team.
This role requires a high level of collaboration to work within a highly matrixed organization to develop processes and solutions across teams in Marketing & Operations, Strategy & Research, Partner Management/Support, Sales Ops, Engagement, Retention, Business Technology, Academic Services, Finance and Legal.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to learning and marketing trends and technologies. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in integrated marketing account management and experience developing operational processes at scale. This role requires excellent skills in client service, digital marketing fluency, managing complexity and problem solving, organizational savviness, communication, and change management.
This position is both a leader and a doer. This role manages a small team and reports to the VP, Integrated Marketing Operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the standardization of assigned pilots, special projects and processes for the Integrated Marketing team to ensure consistency and excellence and increase output. Special projects and initiatives may originate within or outside of Integrated Marketing, and key areas of focus for assignments may include but are not limited to:
o Partner Strategy & Growth Enablement: Process and optimizations for strategic plans, integrated marketing plans, budgeting, enrollment forecasting, partner performance reviews, and Workfront project enhancements
o Marketing Account Management: Optimizations for partner-facing account management artifacts for status updates, presentations, asset reviews, etc.
o Funnel Performance Management: Optimizations for performance analysis processes and pipeline reporting for Integrated Marketing’s management of the full student journey funnel—leads to ending enrollments
o Insight-Driven Strategy: Solutions and processes regarding brand strategy projects, value props, competitive analyses, testimonials, market research, surveys, VoiceOps reports, focus groups, and other research
• Develop and optimize standard operating procedures, workflows, systems, templates, tools and reports for assigned pilots, special projects and processes.
• Provide support on workflow and tech-enabled improvements to boost team efficiency and scalability including researching emerging trends, experimenting with new technologies, and implementing scalable solutions.
• Collaborate to gain stakeholder buy-in and develop solutions with cross-functional teams in Marketing & Operations, Strategy & Research, Partner Management/Support, Sales Ops, Engagement, Retention, Business Technology, Academic Services, Finance and Legal.
• Lead discovery and identify key milestones, requirements, dependencies, deliverables, and rollout plans for each implementation.
• Provide oversight on assigned, end-to-end projects in Workfront.
• Conduct team trainings and retrospectives; implement feedback loops to collect input from Integrated Marketing team and other stakeholders.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and other success metrics to assess effectiveness of pilots, special projects and process improvements.
• Support the VP, Integrated Marketing Operations with the design and maintenance of quality control checkpoints to ensure compliance and performance standards.
• Manage development of onboarding materials for Integrated Marketing and conduct onboarding for new hires.
• Participate in cross-departmental steering committees and other working groups to inform and support enterprise-wide initiatives.
Talent Development:
• Coach and develop direct report(s) to strengthen bench, develop expertise, and achieve goals.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field required; Master's degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in brand management, portfolio management, or integrated marketing; agency or account management experience highly desirable.
• 2+ years of partnering with teams across an organization to develop processes and solutions to create efficiencies and scale.
• Demonstrated success managing highly complex projects and solutions through ambiguity.
• Prior experience in higher education marketing, enrollment, or other mission-driven sectors highly desirable.
• Strong digital marketing fluency; excellent communication skills and ability to influence across levels, including internal stakeholders.
• Experienced people-leader and proven success in driving results in highly matrixed organizations.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce, Tableau, or marketing analytics platforms a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in U.S.
• Fully remote, some travel may be required.
