Overview

Senior Director, Academic Excellence
Catapult Learning, the largest provider of K-12 contracted instructional services in the United States, is seeking a Senior Director of Academic Excellence to drive program and instructional excellence across our Intervention, Tutoring, and Summer programs. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring that our academic programs are aligned with research-based best practices, implemented with fidelity, and drives toward improved student outcomes.

The Senior Director will lead and support a team focused on academic and program excellence, collaborate with Territory teams to enhance program quality and effectiveness, as well as develop processes and systems that empower leaders to drive student success. This role will report into the Vice President, Teacher and Learning.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Program Excellence
  • Develop and implement a vision and strategy for continuous improvement in academic quality, ensuring measurable gains in student achievement.
  • Establish clear, data-driven processes for monitoring and improving instructional fidelity, program implementation, and student outcomes.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate and enhance program quality through research-based practices, data leadership and analysis, and feedback loops.
  • Oversee the identification and support of programs requiring targeted intervention (e.g., Program Support list) to improve program effectiveness.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Manage and develop the Academic Excellence team, including Directors of Instructional Excellence and Instructional Excellence Coaches.
  • Build a high-performing team by hiring, mentoring, and developing staff to drive instructional and programmatic success.
  • Provide direct coaching and professional growth opportunities for team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Collaboration with larger team to communicate and drive team initiatives
Systems Development and Communication
  • Develop and implement a process to drive Catapult-wide improvement plans tailored to regional needs and challenges.
  • Develop systems for the Academic Excellence team to support Supervisors, Area Managers, and Regional Directors in executing evidence-based strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Partner with Territory Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Regional Directors to increase collaboration and improve communication processes\

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field required
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in K-12 education, with a strong background in instructional leadership and school improvement and/or transformation.
    • Proven track record of improving student outcomes through instructional excellence initiatives.
    • Experience managing teams and driving large-scale academic quality improvements.
    • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
