Shift | Monday – Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm); with some evening, nights, and weekends per business needs. This is a hybrid position. Hybrid details discussed at interview.
Job Summary The Senior Director of Communications for UK HealthCare leads internal communication strategy to support enterprise growth, employee engagement, and system-wide initiatives. This role oversees content development, supervises a cross-functional communications team, and aligns messaging across UK HealthCare and its partners. The position supports leadership communication, manages crisis response messaging, and strengthens collaboration across hospitals, clinics, and health-related colleges. It also plays a key role in advancing reputation, supporting expansion efforts, and fostering a strong service and team-oriented culture.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills to evaluate health care or organizational issues, themes, current events, etc., as well as fact-checking and review; the ability to manage multiple tasks and/or publication projects while accurately completing routine functions in a fast-paced, high-intensity, professional work environment; proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; social media experience; excellent attention to quality, accuracy and detail; experience with speechwriting and AP style; exceptional planning and organizational skill; solid written and verbal communication skills; ability to solve routine problems and manage resources; demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service, time management, and judgment; and respect for confidentiality and diversity. We seek someone resilient, adaptable, creative, and innovative. The ability to navigate a complex organizational environment and articulate/improve communications are highly desired.

Preferred Education/Experience | Prefer a Master’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field plus demonstrated experience in publication management.
