Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Research Partnerships will lead the establishment and stewardship of New York University’s industry partnerships to support the continued growth of its research portfolio. They design, implement, and manage a strategic, comprehensive, and proactive plan to build and enhance meaningful relationships with regional, national, and global industry partners interested in sponsoring faculty research and institutional research initiatives at NYU. The Senior Director of Research Partnerships integrates efforts into NYU’s larger strategic plans. The position requires effective and collaborative working relationships across the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, including with Research Development, Technology Opportunities and Ventures, the Entrepreneurial Institute, Sponsored Programs, and Research Compliance, as well as with the University Development and Alumni Relations, Wasserman Center for Career Development, General Counsel, Government Relations, and Communications in the President’s Office, as well as School Deans and Vice Deans for Research. Responsibilities include: identifying strategic priorities and opportunities for research partnerships and industry-sponsored research; developing and managing a portfolio of global partnerships that align with NYU’s strengths and priorities through collaborative relationship building; planning and coordinating events and meetings between industry representatives and NYU researchers and leaders; facilitating communication of NYU’s research to industry contacts; shepherding negotiations, contracts, agreements, and other related agreements through appropriate processes; managing internal data relevant to the role; and representing NYU in regional, national, and international contexts.

10+ years Related experience in building strategic cross-sector partnerships
Preferred Experience:
10+ years Direct experience in a university corporate engagement position with identified successes in building partnerships with tangible results Experience working with intellectual property as a key part of a business relationship Experience working with international partners

Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $210,000.00 to USD $250,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
