Who you are:
- (Required) You have at least 2 years of experience as a direct technical leader with a proven record of high-velocity, high-quality product delivery and a passion for team leadership and people development.
- (Required) You are deeply technical with at least 5 years of software engineering experience, including hands-on development and DevOps. You have deep knowledge of Java and React, plus experience building native mobile applications for iOS and Android.
- (Required) You possess advanced knowledge of cloud-native application development on AWS.
- (Required) You have demonstrated experience leveraging GenAI within the product development cycle to improve speed and quality.
- You are a strategic and collaborative leader who excels at fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- You bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring and supporting the growth of fellow engineers.
- You are customer-centric, action-oriented, and entrepreneurial, with a readiness to tackle challenges at all levels.
- You have a genuine enthusiasm for working with, learning, and leveraging new technologies.
- You possess a keen eye for process improvement and are motivated by delivering high-impact, scalable technical solutions.
- As an added bonus, you are excited about the Education/Non-Profit Sector and/or have experience with Advancement or Fundraising.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and support the Signal and mobile engineering team, focusing on their performance, professional growth, and ability to do their best work.
- Divide your time between hands-on technical contributions (approx. 50%) and team leadership, project oversight, and mentorship.
- Partner closely with product management to shape and execute the roadmap for the Signal and mobile platforms.
- Collaborate with architects and other technical leaders to establish and implement a cohesive cross-product architectural vision.
- Work with the TechOps team (CloudOps and Security) to ensure all products are performant, stable, and secure.
- Oversee the full people management lifecycle, including performance reviews, career development plans, hiring, and onboarding.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in product development, DevOps, and test automation.
- Build and nurture a collaborative, kind, and feedback-rich culture that aligns with our core values.
