POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Event Manager plays a critical role in the planning and executing a variety of events within the organization; all while leading a team of 3-5 Event Managers. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Events, the Senior Event Manager coordinates event operations, ensuring strict adherence to organizational guidelines, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs). This position requires a committed leader, dedicated not only to delivering excellent events but also providing exceptional support to our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and management of multiple event types, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with budgets.
  • Planning tasks include but not limited to coordinating with hotels and event venues, negotiate with vendors, presenter management, budgeting and lead onsite support staff. 
  • Lead and mentor a team of Event Managers, providing guidance and support in their operational and logistical responsibilities.
  • Train and onboard new staff and event managers.
  • Ensure team accountable to Solution Tree standards for event standards and procedures. 
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors, maintaining budget controls and optimizing event profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, customer service, sales, and logistics to enhance event success.
  • Facilitate effective communication and training within the team, ensuring all members are aligned with the latest updates and practices.
  • Act as a support event manager on-site during events, providing backup support and leadership to ensure smooth operations and immediate problem resolution.

Qualifications
  • Experience in managing large-scale events.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and personalities.
  • Proficient in budget management and cost negotiations.
  • Excellent time management skills, capacity to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to implement solutions effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to be flexible when navigating the unforeseen, shifting priorities, accommodating diverse needs, and embracing change. 
  • Current Solution Tree employee. 

Certifications, recommended: CMP (Certified Meeting Planner)
Travel: 50-60 nights a year
