Description:

The Office of Financial Aid is seeking a detail‑oriented and customer‑focused Senior Financial Aid Assistant to serve as a first point of contact for students, parents, and campus visitors. In this role, you will advise families on the financial aid application process and eligibility requirements, direct incoming calls and emails, and provide high‑quality customer support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional accuracy in reviewing and entering data, and the ability to navigate multiple computer systems. This position also supports the integrity of financial aid records by resolving audit errors, managing mail distribution, assisting customers with documentation needs, and helping train new employees and student staff.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advises students and parents regarding financial aid application process and eligibility requirements. 
  • Answer and directs incoming calls to the Financial Aid Office and serve as the first point of contact with customers and other visitors. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to resolve customer issues and concerns via Call Center and email management. 
  • Check data from completed forms, or other documents for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Accesses a variety of computer information systems and databases to retrieve verify and enter data. 
  • Reviews audit reports and resolve errors to ensure integrity of data. 
  • Provides assistance to customers regarding data requirements and the status of paperwork. 
  • Ensures the receipt, sorting and distribution of mail.  
  • Responsible for assisting in the training of new employees and student employees.
  • Performs related special projects and other responsibilities as needed.
  • Overtime required during peak processing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of customer service and/or data entry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
