Senior Front End Software Engineer 2
Location: Remote; Hybrid to Wayne, PA; Hybrid to Naperville, IL
How You'll Contribute to Our Mission
Frontline Education is seeking a Senior Software Front-End Engineer 2 with deep Angular expertise to help build secure, transparent, and trustworthy digital experiences in regulated enterprise environments.
In this role, you’ll shape how AI-enabled capabilities come to life for users — ensuring they are intuitive, explainable, compliant, and genuinely helpful. Your work will directly influence how intelligent systems are introduced responsibly at scale, empowering organizations to adopt innovation with confidence.
You’ll operate as a technical leader within the front-end discipline, partnering closely with backend, platform, security, data, and compliance teams. Together, you’ll design and deliver enterprise-grade applications that balance innovation with governance, performance with accessibility, and automation with human oversight.
How You'll Drive Sucess
• Design, develop, and maintain complex Angular applications used in enterprise and highly regulated environments.
• Lead the front-end implementation of AI-assisted workflows that clearly distinguish system-generated outputs from user-authored content.
• Ensure AI integrations provide transparency, traceability, and meaningful user control — including support for review-based and human-in-the-loop processes where required.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define API contracts, architectural patterns, and integration strategies that meet enterprise security and compliance standards.
• Apply modern front-end architecture practices with strong emphasis on authentication, authorization, secure data handling, accessibility, and performance at scale.
• Participate in design reviews, threat modeling sessions, and architectural governance processes to proactively address risk.
• Mentor engineers and establish high standards for front-end quality, automated testing, documentation, and operational readiness.
• Contribute to large, cross-team initiatives with multiple dependencies, helping drive alignment and predictable delivery.
• Ensure all solutions align with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements.
What You Bring to Help Us Grow
• 7+ years of professional front-end development experience, including significant production experience with Angular (v12+).
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with a track record of delivering resilient user interfaces.
• Experience building software within regulated or compliance-driven industries such as education, healthcare, finance, or government.
• Experience integrating AI or machine learning–powered services into user-facing applications.
• A strong understanding of identity, access control, privacy, and secure front-end design principles.
• Experience working with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs in distributed systems.
• Comfort leading technical discussions and influencing architectural direction across teams.
Preferred experience includes:
• Working with enterprise design systems or component libraries.
• Exposure to modular or micro-frontend architectures.
• Experience in cloud-native environments and modern CI/CD pipelines with strong quality gates.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SOC 2, FERPA, GDPR, or HIPAA.
• Implementing logging, telemetry, and auditability considerations at the front-end layer.
What You'll Need to Thrive
• A mindset that prioritizes trust, clarity, and resilience — especially when systems generate recommendations or automate decisions.
• Comfort navigating governance and compliance processes while maintaining forward momentum.
• A collaborative approach that brings security, compliance, and platform partners into the conversation early.
• A thoughtful perspective on AI adoption that balances experimentation with responsibility.
• A commitment to documentation, shared standards, and repeatable patterns that support long-term scale.
• A natural inclination to mentor, elevate others, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
