  • Required qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, and 5-7 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or community management with a preference for higher education or edtech experience.
  • Technical skills: Expertise with third-party online communities (Reddit, Discord, TikTok), social listening tools, taxonomy design, moderation, AMA facilitation, and creator partnerships.

Senior Manager, Community Engagement Full Description

We connect students with programs that help them achieve their aspirations, while ensuring partners grow with confidence. Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand Strategy, the Senior Manager, Community Engagement will architect and lead Risepoint's third party community strategy. This role is responsible for representing university partners in online communities such as but not limited to Reddit, Discord, TikTok, and student forums—authentically and transparently. The Senior Manager will be a strategic connector, bringing student insights back to Risepoint teams and partners to inform marketing, content, and digital experiences. You will collaborate with Content, Digital Experience, SEO, Paid Media, Partner Success, University Relations, and Compliance to ensure community engagement strengthens trust, elevates brand perception, and delivers measurable value. This role is expected to continuously test, learn, and evolve engagement strategies that move beyond traditional formats and spark meaningful dialogue.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Community Strategy & Outreach: Develop and execute community engagement strategy across Reddit, Discord, TikTok, forums, and peer networks; ensure compliance with disclosure and platform standards
  • Community Leadership & Engagement: Spark and sustain authentic dialogue; seed constructive prompts; represent universities transparently; elevate student voice.
  • Insight Generation & Strategic Advocacy: Monitor sentiment, surface FAQs, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, content, and digital strategies.
  • Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to align messaging with student language and provide consultative support to university stakeholders.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Define, track, and report KPIs including sentiment, engagement quality, trust signals, and insights adoption.
  • Risk, Trust & Compliance: Apply legal guardrails, ensure FTC/COPPA/FERPA alignment, and maintain escalation protocols.
  • Innovation & Experimentation: Collaborate with Field and Integrated Marketing to design and pilot new ways to foster community conversations—leveraging emerging platforms, real-time tools, partnerships and prospective/student insights.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
5-7 years in social media, digital marketing, or community management (higher ed/edtech experience strongly preferred)

Additional Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Expertise in third-party communities (Reddit, Discord, TikTok, forums); strong insight mining & social listening skills; proven track record converting signals into strategy; empathetic communicator; cultural fluency; stakeholder collaboration; familiarity with FTC disclosure norms and COPPA/FERPA boundaries

Experience with moderation, AMA facilitation, or creator partnerships
Familiarity with social listening tools and taxonomy design
