The Senior Manager of Talent Development and Engagement plays a vital role in that commitment -- elevating our team member experience and driving organizational growth. Working closely with leaders and department heads, this role oversees training, coaching, team member engagement, and recognition programs – ensuring all initiatives are aligned with IDI’s values, business goals, and evolving workforce needs. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Include:

Training & Development
  • Develop and execute a holistic training and development strategy aligned with company growth, culture and business objectives.
  • Leads the full life cycle of training programs--from needs assessment and content creation to delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Design, develop, and maintain the delivery of innovative training programs, including but not limited to:
    • Leadership Development (for existing and new managers).
    • Onboarding and assimilation programs for new hires at all levels.
    • Skills-based training (e.g., communication, performance management, de-escalation).
    • Compliance and regulatory training (e.g., workplace safety, legal/ethical guidelines).
  • Lead and/or oversee the facilitation of engaging training sessions, utilizing various formats (in-person, virtual, e-learning, micro-learning, blended).
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage external training partners and resources as needed.
  • Oversee and track required annual training and effectiveness for relevant roles.

Coaching & Succession
  • Manage Imperial’s internal coaching program from program design, coach training, matching coaching partners, program execution, through measuring and reporting on success.
  • Provide regular program progress updates to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Partner with leaders to identify top talent and support succession planning.
  • Maintain and update succession candidate pipelines in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Design, launch, and manage an early career development or talent pipeline program to attract high-potential talent and support their internal progression through structured learning, mentorship, and growth opportunities across the organization.

Engagement & Culture
  • Develop and implement an overarching team member engagement strategy that aligns with our "Preferred Employer" initiative.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to foster a positive, inclusive, and rewarding workplace culture enabling team member engagement.
  • Oversee and enhance existing recognition and awards programs (e.g., Service Awards, Leadership Awards of Distinction, Team Member of the Year/Month).

  • Partner with relevant committees (e.g., S.E.E.D. Committee) to promote and support team member wellness programs and activities.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Design and manage team member feedback channels, including surveys (e.g., pulse surveys, NPS) to gauge satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and measure the impact of engagement efforts.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to training effectiveness, leadership development adherence, new hire engagement, and team member retention (e.g., Quality of Hire, New Hire Engagement Score, Manager Check-In Completion Rate, Absenteeism, Lateral Mobility Rate, Internal Promotion Rate, Leadership Development Participation, turnover rates).
  • Develop and present regular reports and dashboards to leadership, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Human Resources to develop and maintain a Performance Management system.

Operational Leadership
  • Assist the VP of Human Resources in the development of capital and operating budgets.
  • Manage training and engagement program budgets, monitor variances, and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Identify and propose grants and funding options that align with company objectives and future growth needs.
  • Utilize HRIS and other systems to manage, track, and report on all training, development, and engagement activities. 
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Training and Development and Human Resources, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role specifically focused on training, organizational development, or employee engagement.
  • PHR, SPHR, CP, or SCP Certification preferred
  • Project Management and Change Management Skills
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating successful training and development programs across various organizational levels.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and various training methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and compliance mandates.
  • Experience with employee relations issues and collaborative resolutions.
  • Experience with employee engagement strategies, survey administration, and action planning.
  • Experience leading a team and/or managing external training vendors or partners.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Data-driven approach to evaluating program effectiveness and driving results.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and learning management systems (LMS); experience with UKG, Teams and Microsoft Office. is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Has a keen sense of global and cultural awareness for attracting and retaining a diverse team.
