University of Dayton is hiring a Senior MBSE Mentor & Modeling Lead. The role involves leading and mentoring a team of junior modelers, establishing best practices, and ensuring quality and consistency in model-based systems engineering outputs while collaborating with engineering leadership to align strategies.
Highlights
Lead a team of 10-20 junior MBSE modelers, providing day-to-day mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance.
Develop individual growth plans for team members to support career development and skill progression.
Document and share best practices, modeling standards, and lessons learned across the team.
Oversee consistency and quality of models aligned with organizational objectives.
Facilitate collaboration through working sessions, peer reviews, and training workshops.
Serve as primary escalation point for technical modeling issues.
Align team outputs with program and enterprise-level modeling strategies alongside systems engineering leadership.
Lead initiatives to improve modeling practices, governance processes, and transition plans to SysML 2.0.
Required expertise in MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, or Capella and strong knowledge of SysML, UAF, DoDAF standards.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field, 10 years MBSE experience, 5+ years mentoring experience, and U.S. citizenship due to federal contract requirements.
