Job Description:
ASU is seeking a Senior Product Manager to serve as the strategic owner of one or more high-impact, student-facing platforms that support the student lifecycle. These products serve as critical touchpoints within ASU's academic ecosystem, directly shaping how prospective and current students access information, navigate options, and make enrollment and academic decisions.
This is a senior individual-contributor role requiring deep product expertise, strong cross-functional leadership, and the ability to operate with high autonomy. The ideal candidate will transform these products from static informational tools into intelligent, adaptive experiences that support ASU's mission of access, flexibility, and lifelong learning.

Position Salary Range: $94,300.00 - $115,000, DOE
Essential Duties:
Product Vision & Strategy
Define and execute a clear product vision for student-facing platforms, evolving them from static tools into intelligent, student-centered experiences
Translate institutional goals and user needs into prioritized, outcome-based roadmaps
Navigate academic governance structures and technical constraints to deliver meaningful product improvements
Analytics & Insights
Define and track success metrics tied to user engagement and progression outcomes
Use quantitative and qualitative research to surface insights and drive evidence-based decisions
Apply behavioral analytics to understand how students interact with products and identify opportunities for improvement
Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as the primary product partner to stakeholders across the university
Align priorities across teams and resolve trade-offs with clarity and credibility
Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Analytics, and Portfolio Management to ensure coordinated, scalable delivery
Take responsibility for fostering a positive culture, upholding organizational values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
Collaborate across teams and actively participate in ET/ASU events and programs.
Product Excellence
Establish strong product discipline across all initiatives: clear PRDs, outcome-based roadmaps, rigorous analytics, and structured UAT
Own the "what" and the "why" and defining problems precisely before prescribing solutions
Create early stakeholder alignment and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization
AI & Innovation
Steward the responsible integration of AI capabilities into student-facing experiences, including improved search relevance, guided exploration, and contextual recommendations
Ensure all AI-driven features preserve user trust, transparency, and academic integrity
Identify opportunities where technology can expand access and reduce friction across the student journey
Leverage AI in routine tasks and contribute ideas for using AI to improve the unit's efficiency and overall performance
Desired Qualifications:
At least two (2) years in a senior or lead Product Manager role
Demonstrated track record of owning full product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and iteration
Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholder groups
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence without authority
Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and deliver measurable outcomes
Experience in high-traffic, consumer-facing digital products
Experience with product managing platform products
Background working with AI/ML product capabilities in a consumer context
Demonstrated ability to model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.

Ability to cultivate a psychologically safe environment where all team members can thrive.
Capacity to inspire and drive meaningful change in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to support a more sustainable environment.

Working Environment:
Activities primarily take place in a standard, climate-controlled office environment and may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, or moving between office spaces.
This role involves regular use of a computer (desktop and/or laptop), including a keyboard and mouse.
Effective communication and proficiency with a variety of technologies are essential for collaboration with the broader team.
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
Regular responsibilities may require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
