Social Media Assistant Full Description

Department Overview:

UHS offers award-winning, high quality medical, mental health, prevention, and wellness services to enrolled UW-Madison students.

Schedule:

This individual is expected to have a regular, weekly in-person schedule ranging from 10-15 hours per week.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $14 Maximum: $16

Qualifications:

- Though not required, the ideal candidate will continue in the position for a minimum of two semesters.
- Undergraduate student majoring in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, or related.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- A working knowledge of short form video creation with TikTok, CapCut, Instagram Edits, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with a variety of social media platforms and awareness of current trends and practices.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects effectively.
- Interest in health and/or higher education communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively with UHS professional staff and student staff.

- Work collaboratively with other student employees to create reels, posts, and stories for social media platforms.
- Schedule posts and monitor analytics across multiple social media platforms.
- Assist and manage monthly content calendar.
- Serve as a UHS brand ambassador by participating in outreach events/tabling events, appearing in videos, and engaging with various audiences through UHS social media accounts.
- Assist with additional communications-related tasks as needed.
