Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary | Under the direction of the Collections Manager of the Escalette Permanent Art Collection, a unit within Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Student Social Media Coordinator will support a wide range of communications tasks. This position will play a key role in managing and growing the Escalette Collection’s digital presence, with a focus on content creation, audience engagement, and strategic outreach. The coordinator will contribute to planning and executing social media campaigns, maintain a regular posting schedule, monitor platform performance, and assist in promoting exhibitions, events, and initiatives to both internal and external audiences. This position also includes photographing Escalette-related events and activities for use across digital platforms.
Responsibilities | Coordinate and streamline content across social media platforms (primarily Instagram and Facebook). Maintain and manage the social media posting schedule. Create, edit, and publish engaging written and visual content aligned with collection goals. Track analytics to assess content performance and make recommendations for improvement. Assist in developing strategies to grow audience engagement and followership. Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner. Capture photos during Escalette events, installations, and related activities for promotional use. Support social media engagement and live posting during events. Ensure consistency with university brand guidelines and messaging. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications | Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented. Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Creative thinker with the ability to generate compelling content ideas. Basic photography skills and interest in visual storytelling. Strong time management and organizational skills. Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Desired Qualifications | Interest in contemporary art. Interest in the museum field. Familiarity with the Escalette Collection of Art.
