The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing best-in-class strategic supplier relationships and agreements with vendors. Responsible for the development of RFPs to support the expansion of Bright Horizons global strategy as defined by the Senior Leadership team. The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for managing the intake of contracts, facilitating the business and legal review, negotiating favorable terms, competitive pricing and SLAs to ensure that formal product and service agreements provide tangible benefits and value to Bright Horizons.
This Hybrid role requires in-person work 3-days a week at our Newton, MA headquarters.

Responsibilities:
- Apply facilitation skills to obtain end-user participation and support for projects.
- Demonstrate expertise and confidence required to work with others to achieve optimal outcomes for Bright Horizons.
- Evaluate agreements utilizing internal and external resources. Develop effective measurements of success.
- Manage vendor performance, develop and performance and quality management programs for key vendors in collaboration with various departments.
- Analyze and research commodities’ spending patterns using appropriate business metrics and recommend strategies to maintain flexibility in responding to new opportunities or changing business needs.
- Facilitate all formal activities related to competitive bidding events to drive cost savings and operational efficiency
- Identify potential strategic suppliers in all major categories and negotiate formal contracts.
- Work with stakeholder groups, resources, and forums across the Bright Horizons community to effectively communicate all contractual requirements and Procurement procedures as required.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of changing related business trends in the marketplace and the possible impact on Bright Horizons
- Ensure that the field is purchasing contracted items as directed. Review and analyze field spend reports, and communicate as needed to ensure compliance to the Bright Horizons Procurement Policy.
- Review, match and process quotes and invoices through Bright Horizons’ systems
Minimum Job Requirements
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a Procurement position required. Extensive and demonstrated professional knowledge and proven experience in management practices required,
Additional Job Requirements
- The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for developing new vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and defining new business processes to as they relate to suppliers. The Sourcing Specialist will approve all POs for his/her managed commodities according to corporate policies.
- Preferred professional knowledge and experience in principles, practices and trends of various environments and related procurement policies, applicable laws and competitive solicitation practices
- Strong negotiation skills and strategies required
- Excellence in written and oral communications and strong interpersonal skills required
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups from a wide variety of backgrounds and organization levels, to incorporate their ideas, adapt to their needs, and to form consensus in appropriate situations
- Possess behavioral competencies that include a high level of commitment to customer service, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, ability to strategically link long-range business goals to daily activities, demonstrated ability to work with others to develop talent for the organization, and desire to use organizational knowledge to assist and influence others to specific action.
