At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Rancho Cucamonga, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Rancho Cucamonga, CA 

Details:
  • In-Person Tutoring in Rancho Cucamonga, CA 
  • Schedule: 25 hours, 5x a week for 1hr 15mins
  • Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:
  •  Valid teaching credential required (Special Education strongly preferred) 
  •  Bilingual in English and Spanish (required) 
  •  Extensive experience working with individuals with Down syndrome, autism, and significant support needs 
  •  Experience supporting minimally verbal or emerging communicators 
  •  Knowledge of foundational literacy and math instruction at the Pre-K to early elementary level 
  •  Experience teaching functional academic skills and life skills for young adults 
  •  Strong understanding of language and communication development strategies 
  •  Skilled in using visual supports, repetition, modeling, and structured routines 
  •  Experience managing and de-escalating significant behaviors using positive behavior support strategies 
  •  Patient, compassionate, and able to maintain engagement with highly supportive and individualized instruction 
  •  Creative in incorporating motivating interests such as music and preferred activities to encourage participation

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Provide highly individualized instruction in foundational literacy skills, including letter recognition, early phonemic awareness, and pre-reading development 
  •  Deliver foundational math instruction focused on number recognition, counting, and early number sense 
  •  Support development of functional academic skills relevant to daily living and independence 
  •  Prioritize development of expressive and receptive communication skills, with emphasis on communicating needs and increasing verbal output 
  •  Implement structured routines, visual supports, and repetitive instruction to support comprehension and retention 
  •  Integrate executive functioning supports such as structured transitions, task initiation, and sustained engagement 
  •  Manage and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors, including biting, kicking, running, and self-injury, particularly during non-preferred tasks 
  •  Incorporate music, preferred activities, and motivating interests to increase engagement and participation 
  •  Maintain a patient, encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and meaningful progress 
  •  Provide progress updates to caregivers and adjust instructional strategies based on student response
