At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Jurupa Valley, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Jurupa Valley, CA

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Jurupa Valley, CA
  • Schedule: 25 hours, 4-5 sessions a week for 1.15-1.5 Hours
  • Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

  • Highly experienced tutor with a strong background in special education and behavior intervention.
  • Comfortable working with kindergarten-aged students with autism in a functional skills setting.
  • Experienced supporting students who use AAC devices and require communication modeling and visual supports.
  • Skilled in managing challenging behaviors such as eloping, task refusal, hitting, and material destruction using positive behavior strategies.
  • Bubbly, engaging, and energetic, while also firm, consistent, and able to maintain clear expectations.
  • Patient and calm under pressure, with the ability to redirect behaviors and keep sessions productive.
  • Experienced using sensory-based strategies and reinforcers to support engagement and regulation.
  • Comfortable conducting an initial assessment to guide instruction and goal-setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy skills, including letter recognition, early phonics, and pre-reading readiness.
  • Support foundational math skills such as number recognition, counting, and early number concepts.
  • Build fine motor skills through structured activities focused on pencil use, tracing, and manipulating classroom materials.
  • Model and encourage communication using the student’s AAC device throughout sessions.
  • Implement behavior-intervention strategies to address frustration, elopement, refusal, and other challenging behaviors.
  • Maintain a structured, predictable learning environment with consistent routines and clear expectations.
  • Incorporate sensory-based activities (e.g., bubbles, hands-on tools, movement) as motivating reinforcers.
  • Complete required tutor assessment and adjust instructional strategies based on progress.
  • Collaborate with existing therapies (ABA, OT) by reinforcing strategies already in place.
