EXAMPLE OF DUTIESWorking collaboratively with the Leading Equity, Anti-Racism and Diversity (LEAD) Office to engage the campus in the implementation of the Native American Student Success and Support Program (NASSSP):
Coordinate, facilitate, manage, organize and implement the grant by providing leadership in the cultivation of assurances of the grant program (peer mentorship; course-specific cohorts; counseling & wraparound services offering culturally responsive resources; faculty and staff professional development; core matriculation services, and tribal liaison). Develop support services and programs for the American Indian / Alaska Native community on campus. Ensure compliance with grant monitoring, expenditure, and reporting requirements. Develop annual goals and objectives and develop plans and strategies to achieve grant outcomes; direct their implementation, monitor, and manage progress and evaluate and assess results. Plan, organize, and conduct meetings, workshops, and professional development related to the grant. Work with local tribes and community leaders to evaluate current and future needs to support student success. Work with and support American Indian / Alaska Native students to evaluate current and future needs to support student success. Assist in identifying and facilitating training and professional development related to culturally responsive practices to support American Indian / Alaska Native students and communities. Assist with gathering and analyzing student success and equity data in connection with the grant objectives. Attend state, local, regional meetings, and workshops related to the grant. Knowledge:Applicable sections of California Education Code. Basic principles, operations, and processes in budget development, financial management, grant monitoring, expenditures, and reporting requirements. Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in departments such as outreach, counseling, research, and instructional programs. Demonstrated experience with implementation of student success and equity frameworks. Demonstrated experience with equity-minded and culturally responsive teaching, learning, and services practices. Demonstrated experience in preparing, evaluating, directing, and completing action plans and completing reports for state reporting. Demonstrated ability to resolve problems, plan contingencies, implement changes, and show improvements. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated experience with shared/participatory governance. Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining professional, community, and industry partnerships. Training and Experience: Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous students or Tribal communities. BA degree or two (2) to four (4) years related experience. Education can be traded off by experience at a two (2) to one (1) ratio. Two (2) years of full-time work counts for one (1) year of education.
