Overview:
This role is primarily remote; however, candidates should be within reasonable commuting distance of our Atlantic Station office for periodic on-site meetings and team collaboration.
The ideal candidate for this Senior Instructional Designer role is a highly organized, customer-focused learning professional with a strong consulting mindset and a passion for creating effective, engaging training solutions. You bring deep expertise in adult learning principles and the ADDIE model, paired with advanced skills in designing modern learning experiences across e‑learning, microlearning, video, instructor-led materials, and job aids. You are a creative problem solver with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
You are an expert user of instructional design and publishing tools such as Articulate 360, Captivate, and UPK, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience leveraging LMS platforms and virtual delivery tools. You communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders and subject matter experts, translating complex information into accessible, WCAG 2.1 Level AA–compliant learning solutions that drive measurable impact across the organization.
Responsibilities: Works closely with SME's and Piedmont leaders to conduct needs assessments and develop training solutions that address the knowledge/skill gaps within the organization. Designs and develops training curriculum in a variety of modern learning formats (e-learning, micro-learning, video, face-to-face materials & activities, job aids, evaluations) for use in a variety of settings (classroom, LMS, Intranet).
