Job Description
As an Instructional Designer and Training Consultant within Honeywell Aerospace Team, you will be responsible for the design and development of technical training courses while also providing consulting services to enhance training effectiveness. This role requires leveraging the latest technology and ensuring that all training adheres to government and industry standards, regulations, and adult learning principles.

This position requires a strategic thinker who can integrate emerging instructional technologies with traditional teaching methods. The successful candidate will play a key role in not only developing high-quality training programs but also enhancing the overall training strategy of our organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

This role will report to the Learning Manager and work at of our Phoenix site on a Hybrid schedule. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and design comprehensive training programs for technical subjects in the aerospace industry, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
  • Act as a training consultant, assessing the training needs of individuals and teams, and providing expert guidance on optimal learning solutions.
  • Utilize the latest technological tools and methodologies to deliver state-of-the-art training experiences.
  • Continuously update and enhance training materials to reflect changes in industry standards, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information about course content and to assure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Ensure all training materials meet and exceed government and industry regulatory standards.
  • Apply adult learning theories to customize the learning experience for diverse groups of learners, catering to different learning styles.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through data collection and analysis, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Provide expertise in the development and execution of instructional technologies and tools.
  • Conduct training workshops and seminars to inform and educate stakeholders about new training initiatives and best practices.
  • Research and adopt cutting-edge practices in instructional design and training methodologies to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development or a related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience designing technical training courses within the aerospace industry or other highly regulated sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of government and industry standards and regulations related to aerospace.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and experience applying these in a training environment.
  • Expertise in conducting training needs assessments and providing consulting services to optimize learning strategies.
 
WE VALUE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency with instructional design software and technologies, such as eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with SMEs, stakeholders, and learners.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and implement necessary improvements.
