Job Description
The Senior Manager of Curriculum Product Innovation (Visual-First Instruction) leads the strategy, design, and implementation of scalable, high-quality instructional experiences for K–12 learners. This role specializes in video-first teaching methodologies, scriptwriting, and production best practices to deliver engaging, standards-aligned curriculum content at scale. The Senior Manager oversees a team of 4–5 direct reports and contractors, collaborating closely with curriculum architects, product teams, and media production partners to drive innovation, operational excellence, and measurable learner impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Innovation
- Develop and lead the video-first instructional strategy across K–12 subjects and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and instructional best practices.
- Identify and integrate emerging trends in educational video design, pedagogy, and technology to inform product direction.
- Build frameworks for scaling video content production while maintaining instructional integrity and quality.
2. Product & Content Leadership
- Oversee the design and production of scripted, teacher-led, and student-facing video content that supports diverse learning modalities and accessibility standards.
- Partner with curriculum and product teams to integrate video seamlessly into courses, ensuring coherence between video lessons, assessments, and instructional materials.
- Establish and maintain style guides, templates, and workflows for script development, storyboarding, and production to support high-volume output.
3. Operational Excellence & Scale
- Manage production pipelines from concept to delivery, including timelines, quality assurance, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
- Define and track KPIs for production efficiency, quality, and learner engagement.
- Leverage data and feedback loops to continuously refine design and production practices.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with curriculum developers, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and research teams to ensure academic rigor and standards alignment.
- Work with marketing and platform teams to optimize video placement and learner experience across products.
- Provide thought leadership on how video and other engaging technologies can transform instructional delivery and drive learner outcomes.
5. Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and mentor 4–5 direct reports and contractors, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Build team capacity in scriptwriting, video pedagogy, and production management through coaching and professional development.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, representing the video innovation function internally and externally.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly supervises 4–5 employees and contractors, providing regular coaching, feedback, and performance management.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in curriculum development, educational media production, and/or educational content innovation, with at least 3–5 years managing teams or production pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Education, Media Production, Instructional Design, or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in K–12 instructional design, video pedagogy, and/or educational media.
- Proven experience leading large-scale video production efforts, including scriptwriting and instructional storytelling.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), closed captioning, and inclusive design principles.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with virtual or blended K–12 education models.
- Proficiency in scripting and storyboarding tools (e.g., Celtx, WriterDuet, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience integrating video into LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Brightspace) and learning technologies.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted video generation, animation, or rapid production tools.
- Background in instructional coaching, teaching, or educational leadership.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
- We anticipate the salary range to be $77,694.00 to $105,253.00. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
