The Senior Product Training Specialist will be responsible for project managing the creation, maintenance, and implementation of blended product training solutions while employing a wide range of tools to meet the needs of all learner types. Prepare training deliverables in accordance with Training Team standards, processes, and training industry best practices. Train clients (internal & external) on CU Direct software best practices, remain current on product trends within the organization and among competitors, and maximize effectiveness by researching training methodologies, tools, and practices within training and development industry.
What you will do:
Analysis & Design
- Conduct need’s assessments, define concise learning objectives, and craft high-level design documents with detailed project plan including recommended delivery method, content areas, and timing. Translate functionality/concepts into practice and consistently provide practical/relevant ideas and perspectives on process/practice improvements that can be easily implemented to improve overall learner experience.
Development & Delivery
- Apply alternative and blended learning methodologies and tools to develop product training deliverables (i.e., classroom-based learning, job aids, eLearning, virtual, on-demand self-paced, and experiential learning opportunities). Develop product training solutions using multiple training and development industry standard software and tools. Lead the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of end-user product training (internal & external), instructor materials, and customized training courses. Promote, collect, and incorporate internal/external client product training feedback to help improve the overall product training process/products, as needed.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Mentor and support new/less experienced team members regarding instructional design, development standards, and writing skills. Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and internal colleagues to identify product training needs (gaps), capture best practices in specific content areas, to then build quality, measurable learning objectives to eliminate or mitigate those gaps, incorporate data into new product training deliverables, and/or update/refresh existing product training materials. Establish and maintain ownership of all relationships, projects, and deliverables. Oversee assigned deployment schedules for training products and communicate with other departments and team members to ensure products are deployed on time and are consistent with CU Direct’s corporate policies and procedures. Remain current on training and development trends and best practices, to continuously improve own skills as well as to offer recommendations to improve the Training Team overall. Escalate all appropriate matters immediately to management.
Ideal candidate:
Education & Required Experience
- BA/BS degree in Education, Business, Communication and/or commensurate work experience.
- 5+ years demonstrated success in developing and delivering software training at a variety of levels to different audiences via classroom, virtually, and online formats.
Required Specialized Skills
- Intermediate/advanced experience with eLearning authoring tools, Camtasia and Articulate Storyline, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to quickly grasp highly technical concepts and to effectively distill technical information to clearly communicate these technical concepts in both live presentation and written formats.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in a role that requires multi-tasking, leadership, and strong customer soft-skills with ability to communicate with all levels within organization.
- Direct cross functional experience, collaborating, negotiating and/or influencing Product Management, Sales, Professional Services, and/or Marketing initiatives.
- Ability to participate in collaborative discussions, identify problems, provide solutions, and breakdown complex concepts and processes into component parts to create and deliver effective training.
- Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, self-motivated, and highly enthusiastic.
- Aptitude to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a changing business environment.
- Superior organizational skills, and ability to independently prioritize work, initiate, manage and complete projects required to meet departmental and overall company goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication, grammar, proofreading, and visual design skills.
- Some travel may be required.

The starting salary range for this full-time position is $78600 - $94200 per year. This base pay will take into consideration internal equity, candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge and experience among other factors. Origence maintains a highly competitive compensation program. Under company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual bonus to provide an incentive to achieve targeted goals. Bonuses are awarded at company’s discretion on an individual basis.
