This position plays a key role in advancing classroom and event technology through hands-on project work and system improvements. The role contributes to the planning, implementation, and enhancement of audiovisual (AV) and instructional technology solutions that support the university's teaching and learning mission. Key responsibilities include leading or supporting technology upgrade projects, coordinating equipment installations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to modernize learning spaces.
General Responsibilities: Delivers a positive user experience through clear communication and proactive support. Supports IT service management processes by triaging support requests and following up on resolutions. Maintains area documentation and manages IT asset inventory.
Position Specific Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain audiovisual equipment in classrooms, lecture halls, and event spaces. Provide real-time technical assistance for faculty, staff, and event organizers. Lead classroom technology refresh projects, including replacing and upgrading AV equipment. Work with faculty, IT teams, and vendors to implement new AV solutions and provide training.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Digital Media, Computer Science, Education, or related field with at least five years of comparable work experience.
Qualifications: Familiarity with troubleshooting operating systems (Windows, Macintosh) and systems such as Crestron, Q-SYS, Zoom, Panopto, and Office 365. Experience with audio systems and media streaming/video conferencing.
