Staff Assistant II Full Description

Overview: 
USU Extension in Utah County is seeking a Staff Assistant II to work with Extension field faculty and educators to support program delivery and development. The position works primarily in the agriculture and family and consumer science areas, and occasionally in youth programs. Responsibilities: 
  • This role is responsible for general office duties, such as answering phone calls and emails related to youth programming, assisting Extension faculty as needed, communicating effectively with vendors, potential clientele, and maintaining a clean reception and office environment.
  • In addition, support volunteer management for the Master Gardener program, including events outside of regular office hours, such as fairs and farm field days.
  • When needed, assist with youth programming in addition to youth programs, and other duties as assigned.
 Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience in an office setting or an associate degree/vocational training is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable with phone calls as a primary communication form
  • Strong writing ability
  • Social Media management skills
  • Comfortable working/updating websites and online registration systems
  • Valid driver’s license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials
  • Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
