Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

 The Staff Project Manager coordinates small to midsize projects and initiatives within a single business unit. This role ensures project visibility, timely execution, and adherence to mature Agile practices. The Staff Project Manager collaborates with stakeholders, maintains project trackers, and proactively addresses challenges to support successful delivery. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to keep projects on track and stakeholders informed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination: Organize and track progress of small to midsize projects, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards

Status Reporting: Maintain trackers and provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and issues

Work Breakdown: Break down tasks into manageable components

Risk and Issue Management: Identify project challenges and recommend solutions to resolve them

Stakeholder Communication: Prepare clear, concise, and error-free presentation materials and reports

Agile Practices: Apply mature Agile methods and processes to improve project efficiency

Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic project management concepts and techniques

  • Agile methodologies and frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, and Product Operating Model

  • Ability to manage scope, schedule, and resources for small projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and project management tools

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities

Experience and Education:

  • Experience with Agile practices and tools (Jira, Confluence preferred)

  • Experience managing small to midsize projects in a corporate environment

  • Agile-related Project Management Certifications a plus (e.g. Certified Scrum Master CSM, CSPO

  • Product Operating Model - Silicon Valley Product Group Training a plus

Experience:

  • Onshore/offshore delivery model

  • Managing projects and documentation Jira and Confluence preferred

  • Collaborations suites for document authoring, estimation and planning tools, Google Suite preferred

  • Track record of successfully delivering projects in a matrixed organization

  • Working with product development projects

  • Prior work experience developing and operating customer facing products in the Ed Tech Industry preferred

Education:

  • At minimum a BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience
