State Solutions Account Executive
Location: Fully Remote;
Ideal candidates will reside in FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, MD, DC, DE, NJ, NY, MA, and New England
Job Overview:
The State Solutions Account Executive will serve as a strategic liaison and sales leader, responsible for cultivating and managing high-impact relationships with state departments of education. This role combines policy insight with sales acumen to drive adoption of Lexia's professional learning and literacy solutions at the state level. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator, strategic thinker, and experienced relationship-builder who can navigate complex educational ecosystems to influence policy, secure contracts, and support state-wide adoption of Lexia's Science of Reading solutions in Eastern US.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Outreach & Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with key state Department of Education officials.
- Serve as the primary conduit between Lexia's Sales and Government Relations and state education agencies.
- Develop conference strategy and represent Lexia at state and national conferences and partner events.
- Consult with state leaders of literacy initiatives.
Sales & Territory Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan aligned with Lexia's strategic goals and state-specific needs.
- Drive the full sales cycle for state-level opportunities, including planning, presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Deliver compelling presentations (in-person and virtual) that communicate Lexia's value proposition and research-based solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all contacts, activities and opportunities in Salesforce and contribute accurate forecasting estimates.
- Identify and engage high-potential state leaders to build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to align internal deliverables with customer expectations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Government Relations to develop messaging, campaigns, and strategic plans.
- Research state data, trends, and policy landscapes to inform outreach and sales strategies.
- Maintain accurate records in Lexia's CRM (Salesforce) and provide market feedback and forecasts.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree in Education, Policy, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in state-level education agencies, sales, policy, or leadership roles is highly preferred.
- Deep comprehension of state education policy, funding mechanisms, and government operations.
- Demonstrated success in sales, particularly in navigating complex sales cycles and securing education-related contracts at the state level.
- Excellent organization, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual collaboration tools.
- Ability to travel extensively while maintaining high productivity through virtual engagement.
