Department Summary
The Department of Teacher Education and Administration seeks to improve educational practice through the generation of knowledge and to prepare education professionals who serve all students. Its focus is on the preparation of educators and school administrators who employ current theory and research.
Position Overview
The STEM mentor position is for college students or graduates majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) to participate in our 2026 summer UNT STEM Camp program as “near-peer mentors” (NPMs). NPMs will collaborate with a team of other mentors to facilitate STEM activities with groups of students. Additionally, the mentorship requires the completion of one or two original lesson plans and a final report.

Minimum QualificationsMajor must be in Mathematics, Science or Engineering.
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesInterest in teaching the importance of serving underrepresented populations as defined by NSF, and experience working with K-12 students.
Preferred QualificationsUndergraduate or graduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
Job Duties
