Physical Requirements  | Lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 25 lbs; repetitive motion typical of desk work (typing, sitting, bending, twisting, prolonged screen exposure); some travel may be required

Shift  | Flexible scheduling available. While some availability during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) may be needed for meetings or communication with students, much of the work can be completed during evenings or weekends to accommodate other commitments.

Job Summary  | The STEPS Earn & Learn Success Coach (hereafter referred to as “Coach”) will work directly with young adults participating in the Earn & Learn and Fostering Success Programs. These programs are designed to support current and former foster youth ages 18–22 in achieving their educational and career goals.

The Coach will provide holistic, strengths-based support to participants pursuing college or GED completion, while also preparing them for long-term academic, personal, and professional success. Coaches will be required to attend an orientation prior to beginning their duties.

Job duties include:
Develop individualized job coaching and academic support plans Communicate with participants to understand their goals and ambitions Assess participants’ strengths and areas for growth Provide coaching in effective job search techniques and workplace readiness Support participants in identifying and overcoming employment and academic barriers Guide participants in completing employment- and school-related tasks Monitor and evaluate participant progress Maintain accurate records and documentation related to participant contact and progress Coordinate and provide holistic support to program participants who are attending college Coordinate and provide holistic support in areas such as: Academic and career planning Financial aid and budgeting Mental health and well-being Basic needs (housing, food, transportation, etc.) Social-emotional development and positive relationships  Provide regular feedback to program staff and partners on participant needs and progress
