POSITION SPECIFICS​

The Assistant Director or Academic Adviser is a valuable member of the Morgan Academic Center (MAC) team and will directly report to the Senior Associate Director of the MAC.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinate the academic support and counseling services for the women's basketball team and additional assigned sports teams which involve tracking and monitoring student-athlete academic progress and eligibility

  • Communicate student-athlete academic progress to coaching staff, athletic administration, and MAC Director

  • Teach one section of the student-athlete first-year seminar course

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate part-time wage payroll staff

  • Meet with prospective student-athletes and families, as required

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director and Sr. Associate Director. These duties require frequent collaboration with the MAC Director, the MAC Sr. Associate Director, University staff (Admissions/Registrar/ICA Compliance), and additional MAC staff as needed.

This position will be filled at the Supervisor or Intermediate Professional level. Evening and weekend hours will be required.

This position must adherence to NCAA, Big Ten Conference rules, and Penn State University regulations affecting the sport and the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

A master's degree or higher in counselor education, college student personnel, sports management, social work, education, higher education administration, or related discipline.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $74,000.00.
