Student Computer Support Technician - SAAC Full Description

Job Summary
The Student-Athlete Academic Center (SAAC) is currently seeking a Computer Support Technician to join their team of professionals. This professional will serve the SAAC staff and student-athlete community.
The tech will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Assisting with set up and maintenance of computer teaching labs.
  • Assisting with maintenance and setup of staff and student athlete computers.
  • Assisting with technical support for end users.
  • Assisting with inventory and surplus of technology.
  • Working as part of a team in a professional office setting.
  • Performing other job related duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.
  • Ability to provide superior customer service
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic wireless network issues on various operating systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic Microsoft Office Suit applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to install a wide variety of computer software on Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Student Disclosure
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
  • Upon graduating, student employment must end.

Work Schedule
Must be available and able to work up to 20 hours a week, hours will vary.
SAAC Hours of Operation:
  • 8:00AM to 8:00PM (Monday- Thursday)
  • 8:00AM to 5:00PM (Friday)
  • Must be able to work nights when required.

Advertised Salary
$14.00/hour to $15.00/hour
