Advertised Job Summary | The Associate Graduate Student Coordinator provides administrative and student-services support for the Department of Psychology’s doctoral programs. Under the supervision of the Graduate Student Coordinator, this position manages student hiring and advisement, tuition abatements, prospective student applications, progression and graduation clearance documents, and alumni tracking. The position serves as a liaison between the department and the Graduate School and supports the development and administration of program policies and procedures. This role helps ensure the doctoral programs remain in compliance with American Psychological Association, University, and Graduate School requirements. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials | Preferred Qualifications | Experience with student services. Knowledge of USC operating systems and USC policies and procedures. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Strong math skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and managerial skills. Knowledge of MS Word operating systems and database management including Access and Excel.

Essential Function | Yes Percentage of Time | 15%Job Duty | Under supervision of the Graduate Coordinator, the Assoc Graduate Coordinator will lead all alumni relations activities including developing and maintaining a system and strategies to best track and communicate with alumni from our graduate program. Essential Function | Yes Percentage of Time | 10%Job Duty | Assists the Graduate Coordinator with hiring graduate students who are filling Teach Assistant and Graduate Teaching department lines and other full-time university sponsored roles, and processing their associated tuition abatements. Assists the Graduate Director and Graduate Coordinator with Teaching Assistant assignments. Essential Function | Yes Percentage of Time | 25%Job Duty | Assists the Graduate Coordinator in a student advisement of degree progression including updating student file notes through the departmental tracking database using DegreeWorks, completing milestone paperwork, and the graduation clearance process.
